TRANSPORT FAQ
As with any other essential service, many questions and concerns
have come up and with so many companies offering these services,
it is indeed important to ask questions as much as possible.
Below are some of them;
1. How long will I wait to get my car?
This a question often asked and there's no one rigid answer to
it, it'll depend on the
shipping company you choose, the road conditions,
distance and assuming there'll be no unforeseen circumstances
like eg. a collapsed major bridge or extremely bad weather. One
can usually get a fair estimation all things being equal.
Issues like security also come in as some routes are known to be
dangerous. The size of the cargo will also determine how fast
you get the car.
2. How much will it cost me?
How much it costs eventually also rest on many factors like the
cargo size, what method you use (open,
enclosed or
expedited), the location of the final
destination and the value of your car and condition at the time
of acceptance. In Africa where roads are bad, the transporter is
likely to load extra charges to cover his wear and tear, which
will be more.

3. What is the difference between Open and closed methods of
transporting?
Closed auto-transportation is whereby vehicles are transported
on a closed hauler and the car is protected from most of the
natural elements e.g. Rain, dust, ice and stones. An open method
on the other hand has the cars transported in an open carrier
where they are all open to the elements and minor damage can
occur.
Closed carriers are much more expensive than open carriers are.
Enclosed carriers are trucks, which are boxed in and enclosed.
They are most often used for antique cars, collectibles autos,
high-end sport, and luxury automobiles. They protect vehicles
from weather elements, road debris, and any other damage that
may be caused by an open
auto transporter carrier environment. They are also used
for low riding cars, like many sports cars. Enclosed car
carriers can cost an average of $300 - $500 more depending on
shipping distances.

The choice between the two depends on the value you put on your
car or the money you are ready to spend.
It is also noteworthy that many companies specialize on
door-to-door
auto shipping services which will costs more; this can also be a
factor in the total cost one pays.
